Stars, lands is a collection of writing compiled by the artist. Themes of metamorphosis and regeneration, grief and hope, wider cosmic mysteries and our relationship to the natural world, bring these texts together. This book registers the artist’s deep joy in reading, and the way that such writing can offer points of reference, impetus and familiarity.
The book accompanies the works exhibited in Nicola Farquhar: Stars, lands, curated by Lauren Gutsell at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery (18 May – 15 September 2024). A Dunedin Public Art Gallery Visiting Artist Programme, supported by Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa. Project Partner, Dunedin School of Art.
